Tired of throwing away food because you discovered they’re expired? Did you know that some foods are perfectly okay to use even beyond their printed date? What if there were a way to track your food and get notifications that remind you when they’re about to expire?
Be in control over your food waste! Keep your money in your wallet by keeping perfectly good food out of the trash. This app will help you be more responsible with your food.
This app is for food-conscious consumers who
1) Care about the quality of the food they eat
2) Want to be more aware of whether their food is still good to eat
3) Wish to save money from throwing away food that’s still safe to use
This app can also be used by store owners who need to
1) Keep track of the “sell by” dates for their products
2) Be notified in advance when their products will expire
3) Wish to prevent expired products from getting into the hands of consumers
Features:
- Quickly add food items by scanning their barcode to fetch product info online, or by taking their picture and providing the product name yourself
- Learn how long foods can last even beyond their printed dates (info provided by Eat By Date)
- Simultaneously store up to 100 different food items*
- Set dates via the picker or saying it through your device's microphone
- At a glance views with clear summary headlines and filterable bar charts and food lists, all to focus on foods closest to expiring
- Daily customizable notifications to remind you when food will go bad soon
Voice input can currently parse the following date formats:
- "Month Day" (assumes current year, if year is omitted) (month is spelled out fully)
- "Month Day Year" (month is spelled out fully)
- "Day of the week" (e.g. Sunday, Monday)
- "In x days" (e.g. "In 3 days")
- "In x weeks" (e.g. "In 2 weeks")
- "In x and a half weeks" (e.g. "In 2 and a half weeks")

*Premium in-app purchase features are in the works. The features provided in this release are available to all users, including Voice Input, Reminders, and Barcode Scanning. However, all users have a limit of 100 food items that can be stored simultaneously. Future plans will raise this cap, but may come at a price depending on demand.

Disclaimer: App was tested in only a few countries, and barcode scanning may not work for all countries. Currently, the app is only available in English and may provide support for translations and localization based on demand.
